Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire
Taken on transparency film in 1980, this is the 06.55 goods train from George to Knysna crossing the famous Kaaimans River Bridge. The line closed in 2006 following severe landslides in this region of South Africa.
Preserved locomotives 9017 Earl of Berkeley and 3440 City of Truro are shown departing from Bewdley, Severn Valley Railway, on 20th September 2008. At that time this coupling was a very rare sight, and is highly unlikely to be seen again since both locomotives have been out of use for many years.

This image features a locomotive departing Grosmont on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. It was on its first outing following repairs, hence the 'full regulator'.
This Grosmont shop is next to the station on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. A lovely little country village in which to spend time.
