Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire
This composite is two blended photography. One from the excellent display of ceramic poppies when they were exhibited at Middleport Pottery and the other is a photograph of a collage of soldiers who went missing during the battle of The Somme in WW1 taken at Thiepval Museum. I wanted to express the reality behind the poppies and I found it very poignant to think that all these young soldiers are someone's son, husband, fathers and lovers. Best viewed in full screen whilst taking a few moments to remember them.
This was taken in our drive at home using my mobile phone. It wasn't staged that is exactly as I found it. It was cropped and using Snapseed I changed it to a monochrome image and added a vignette
